    Early Studies Show Health Benefits

    Preliminary results from a pilot study contracted with the Department of Health Promotion and Education at the University of Utah showed that those taking concentrated marine phytoplankton experienced health benefits. Participants were followed for three months and clinically tested three times, while also undergoing evaluation with psychospiritual assessment tools. Results showed:

    • Immune Booster: Those taking marine phytoplankton had higher measurements of CD3 in their blood—an indicator of T-lymphocytes, which are immune cells responsible for the elimination of viruses and bacteria from organic tissues—than those that didn’t take phytoplankton.
    • Energy Enhancer: Those taking marine phytoplankton had a significant increase in scores on the emotional subscale of the SF36, which is a survey that determines health and well-being. Participants reported they felt full of life, enjoyed more energy, and experienced a greater sense of peacefulness.
    • Mood Booster: Those taking marine phytoplankton showed a significant increase in scores on the Authentic Happiness Inventory, a test designed by Dr. Martin Seligman, Director of Penn State University Positive Psychology Center. Participants reported feeling more successful and in a good mood, enjoying an increased ability to focus, and experiencing more feelings of joy, enthusiasm, and optimism.
